WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you purchase something from our online store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

CONSENT

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent?

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Empire Studios

Our online store is hosted on Square Space / Acuity Scheduling. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Acuity Scheduling’s data storage, databases and the general Acuity Scheduling application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Acuity Scheduling stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, Stripe.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in New Zealand and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the Australia, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under New Zealand legislation.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.

Corporate Entertainment - POA

Is always quoted on a per job basis as needs and design will vary greatly.
Starting rate for dancers is $200 per dancer with a minimum of 2 dancers.
Starting rate for choreography is $200 depending on design & requirements.
A typical 4-5hr brief with 8 dancers on site is $3500.00

Wedding Dances
$100hr if purchased in package of 5 lessons
$120hr if purchased as 1-4 lessons

We can deliver a birthday parties fitted to your needs with a venue and a teacher to entertain the kids with games and a dance class while you relax and take photos.

Terms and Conditions of Services

Our Friendly Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We totally get that life happens—plans change, and flexibility is key!
That’s why we offer a 48-hour cancellation & rescheduling window for all online bookings; open classes, workshops, studio hire and showcases.

Need to reschedule or cancel? Just log in and make changes at least 48 hours before your booking—no fuss, no fees - except transaction fees.

Inside 48 hours? Unfortunately, bookings are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be rescheduled. This is because our spaces, instructors, and schedules are all carefully planned to ensure everyone gets the best experience possible.

Cancellation Policy and Refunds for Long Term Studio Hire
We have a 5 working day cancellation policy - no exceptions.

If cancelled prior to 5 working days - you will be offered a deferred hire or refund.
Refund will be minus any costs incurred; online charges or bank fees.

If you cancel within 5 working days, you’ll be offered deferred hire.
No refunds will be given unless there is a medical reason or bereavement for cancelling.
You may be asked to provide proof for a refund.

Term / Course Fees Policies & Procedures

1.1  Term Fees are invoiced and payable in 21 days unless prior payment arrangements have been made. A Late Fee of 15% will be charged for late payments.

1.2  Term Fees are based on an average of 8-10 weeks per term, with a minimum number of nine weeks, to take into consideration statutory holidays.

1.3  Term Fees left unpaid at the end of each term may be put in the hands of a debt collector and you will be liable for any additional costs associated with collection and recovery.

Term / Course Refund Policies & Procedures

2.1   Refunds are not given for students who have enrolled but do not attend class. Refunds may be available for students who are absent from class due to illness, injury or personal circumstances provided that students are absent for more than 3 consecutive weeks and the studio director has been informed at the time. Refunds are not given for students who are absent for holidays.

2.2 Partial term fees will be calculated on the basis of a $25 admin fee being charged, and the classes not attended deducted pro rata on the basis of the minimum eight-week guarantee. Students who have left the school and wish to return will need to re-enrol, and Empire Studios reserves the right not to accept them.

2.3 In cases of illness or injury, or class cancellation one make-up class per term can be arranged. All make up classes must be within the same term and only in classes where positions are available and subject to teacher approval.

Showcase & Costume Policies & Procedures.

8.1  It is not compulsory for a student to be involved in the annual concert performances, however, it is strongly encouraged.

Students participating in the concert are required to attend extra rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and all performances.

8.2 Parents and caregivers are not permitted backstage and in the changing room areas unless requested - as our staff run the showcases so parents can enjoy the show.

8.3   Costs of costumes for the concert are $50 per costume and remain the property of the dancer.
8.4 Photography and Videography fees are charged for showcases at $20-25 per family, alongside a showcase fee of $10-25 per dancer. See above showcase fees for breakdown.

8.5   Any student with unpaid Term Fees at the time of the concert will not be eligible to participate.

Photography & Videoing of Students

9.1   Parents/caregivers may film their own child in class, or teachers doing demonstrating the dance for self rehearsal purposes only.
9.2   Photograph or videoing of students in class and at concerts is not permitted. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each individual and to comply with the Privacy Act 1993 regulations.

Choreography

10.1 Choreography for classes, performances, and competition remains the artistic and intellectual property of Empire Studios. Choreography must not be copied or used without the prior permission of the Empire Studios.

10.2 Students who leave the Empire Studios are not permitted to perform choreography that was developed specifically for them or as part of a team/group/crew by Empire Studios  Dance teachers without prior permission.

Privacy Act

11.1 Empire Studios enrollment form collects personal information about the student. Under the privacy Act 1993 you are entitled to have access to and request correction of this information at any time.  All personal information is held in the office at Empire Studios, 2 Bond Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021, NZ.
